Jon Rahm Walks Away From LIV Golf, Forgoing Guaranteed Pay Worth Over $100 Million

Jon Rahm, long cast as the face of LIV Golf, is leaving the circuit after agreeing to forgo remaining guaranteed compensation widely reported at more than $100 million.

According to Golf Channel, CBS Sports, and other outlets, Rahm and LIV filed a separation agreement on Oct. 14 (local time) in LIV’s Chapter 11 case pending in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey. Court papers describe the pact as a “complete economic walk-away.”

Under the deal, Rahm drops every monetary claim against LIV—fees, bonuses, prize money, and annual payments. When LIV sought bankruptcy protection on Sept. 8, it owed him about $7.5 million, making him the league’s largest unsecured creditor. Reuters has reported that the future guarantees he is relinquishing exceed $100 million.

In return, Rahm regains control of his name, image, and likeness (NIL). He also takes back the trademarks for his nickname “RAHMBO” and for Legion XIII, the LIV team he captained. Golf Channel, which reviewed the agreement, says it states that Rahm no longer owes LIV any contractual service or performance obligations and may sign with any tour, league, or sponsor without notice to—or consent from—LIV.

From PGA exit to LIV’s collapse

Rahm, who won the 2021 U.S. Open and the 2023 Masters, stunned the golf world in December 2023 by leaving the PGA Tour for a LIV contract reported at more than $300 million. Over three LIV seasons he won four individual events and claimed the individual season title each year; Reuters put his prize money and bonuses alone at more than $106 million. In majors over that stretch, his best finish was a runner-up at this year’s PGA Championship.

LIV itself slid toward insolvency after Saudi backers signaled this spring that they would stop funding the league. Investment firm BC Partners Credit has been reported as ready to put $300 million into a so-called “LIV 2.0” once the bankruptcy process ends. At a hearing on Oct. 7, Rahm’s attorney John Beck said Rahm had independently reviewed LIV 2.0’s proposed terms, found them unacceptable, and would not take part going forward.

    What comes next

The agreement takes effect only if Judge Michael B. Kaplan approves it on Nov. 5. The PGA Tour has said it will not start return talks until it is clear that Rahm has no remaining contractual obligations to LIV. Tour CEO Brian Rolapp has said he will not reopen the “returning member program” that previously helped Brooks Koepka come back. Golf Channel has suggested that if the Tour does not revive a modified version of that pathway, Rahm’s likeliest route is to play the DP World Tour in 2027, serve a one-year penalty period, and return in 2028.

Rahm’s immediate schedule is clearer: he makes his comeback at the Abu Dhabi Championship (Nov. 5–8 at Yas Links), the first event of the DP World Tour playoffs, which opens the same day as the court hearing. “I’ve heard a lot of good things about Yas Links,” Rahm said. “Looking forward to starting in Abu Dhabi and heading to Dubai the following week.” Other LIV players have until Oct. 25 to decide whether to stay with LIV 2.0.

From Idea to Reality: Discover a Better Way to Source Cosmetic Packaging in Korea

Discover a Better Way to Source Cosmetic Packaging in Korea

Your beauty brand deserves packaging as unique as your vision. Discover how PKGROOM makes Korean cosmetic packaging more accessible to brands around the world.

Every Great Beauty Brand Starts with a Vision

Imagine you’re launching your own skincare brand.

You’ve spent months developing the perfect formulation, defining your brand identity, and imagining how your products will look on store shelves.

You know exactly what you want: a sophisticated serum bottle, an elegant moisturizer jar, and a complete packaging collection that reflects your brand’s personality.

But then comes one of the biggest challenges.

Where do you find the right packaging manufacturer?

You search online, browse hundreds of product catalogs, contact different suppliers, and wait for quotations.

Some manufacturers require high minimum order quantities. Others offer limited customization. And often, it’s difficult to know whether the packaging you see in a photograph will actually match your design expectations.

For emerging beauty brands, the packaging sourcing process can quickly become complicated, expensive, and time-consuming.

    That’s where PKGROOM comes in.

    Why Korean Cosmetic Packaging?

South Korea has become one of the most influential countries in the global beauty industry.

From innovative skincare formulations to sophisticated product design, Korean beauty continues to inspire brands worldwide.

Behind this success is a highly developed cosmetic manufacturing ecosystem, including specialized packaging manufacturers producing bottles, jars, pumps, tubes, and other components.

Korean cosmetic packaging is especially attractive to brands looking for:

    • Contemporary and sophisticated designs
    • Innovative dispensing and packaging systems
    • High-quality decoration and finishing options
    • A wide range of existing packaging molds
    • Experienced manufacturers specializing in beauty products

However, discovering these manufacturers and finding the right packaging products can be challenging, especially for international buyers.

Many manufacturers focus primarily on domestic business relationships, and their product information may not always be easily accessible to overseas brands.

PKGROOM was created to help bridge this gap.

Meet PKGROOM: Your Digital Gateway to Korean Cosmetic Packaging

<text>PKGROOM is an online cosmetic packaging platform designed to connect global beauty brands with packaging products and manufacturing expertise in South Korea.</text>

Rather than relying exclusively on traditional product catalogs and email conversations, PKGROOM offers a digital environment where brands can explore packaging possibilities and organize their sourcing projects.

At the heart of the platform is a simple idea:

Finding cosmetic packaging should be as inspiring as designing the beauty products themselves.

Whether you’re developing a new skincare collection or redesigning an existing product line, PKGROOM helps you take the first steps with greater clarity and confidence.

See Your Packaging Before You Produce It

One of the most exciting aspects of modern packaging development is the ability to visualize a product before committing to physical production.

With PKGROOM’s interactive 3D packaging technology, users can explore digital cosmetic containers and examine designs from multiple angles.

Imagine discovering a 50 ml cream jar and being able to rotate it, inspect its proportions, and explore how it might fit your brand’s visual identity.

Instead of simply selecting a product from a static photograph, you can better understand its shape, structure, and aesthetic possibilities.

For beauty entrepreneurs, this approach helps turn an abstract packaging idea into something more tangible.

It can also make communication with manufacturers more efficient by giving both parties a clearer visual reference.

Digital visualization does not replace production samples or technical validation, but it can make the early design and sourcing stages much more productive.

    Create a Consistent Packaging Collection

For many skincare brands, finding one attractive container isn’t enough.

A complete product range might include a cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen.

Each product may require a different container size or dispensing mechanism, but the overall packaging collection should still feel consistent.

Matching colors, finishes, materials, and design details across multiple products can be surprisingly difficult when sourcing each container separately.

PKGROOM provides an environment where brands can explore multiple packaging options and organize selected containers within a project.

This makes it easier to define a unified packaging direction and communicate collection-level requirements to potential manufacturing partners.

Whether your brand favors minimalist white packaging, luxurious metallic finishes, or colorful contemporary designs, a structured project helps bring those choices together.

Start with Existing Molds, Customize for Your Brand

Custom packaging is an important part of brand differentiation, but entirely new molds can introduce additional development costs, technical requirements, and production lead times.

For startups and independent beauty brands, existing packaging molds can provide an attractive starting point.

Many cosmetic packaging manufacturers offer established container designs that can potentially be customized through color selection, decoration, printing, and finishing.

By exploring existing packaging options first, brands may discover designs that closely match their original concepts without immediately investing in new tooling.

This can be especially valuable when launching a first collection or testing a new product in the market.

Customization availability, minimum order quantities, and associated costs depend on the individual packaging model and manufacturer.

Turn Your Packaging Ideas into a Project

Discovering packaging is only the first step. The next challenge is communicating your requirements clearly enough to receive useful manufacturing proposals.

PKGROOM encourages a more structured approach.

Instead of sending a general inquiry asking for a catalog, brands can identify packaging preferences and organize their requirements into a project.

A well-prepared packaging project can include:

    • Preferred container types and capacities
    • Reference designs and visual concepts
    • Target order quantities
    • Color and decoration preferences
    • Material or functionality requirements
    • Additional manufacturing considerations

Providing these details helps manufacturers better understand the brand’s expectations and assess suitable production options.

The result is a sourcing conversation built around a defined project rather than an endless exchange of incomplete information.

A New Opportunity for Independent Beauty Brands

The global beauty market is no longer dominated exclusively by large corporations.

Independent skincare brands, niche beauty labels, and direct-to-consumer businesses continue to introduce creative products and distinctive brand identities.

For these emerging businesses, access to reliable manufacturing information can make a meaningful difference.

PKGROOM aims to make the early stages of Korean cosmetic packaging sourcing more transparent, visual, and accessible.

It brings together digital packaging discovery, 3D visualization, and project-based sourcing in one place.

For manufacturers, more clearly defined projects can also lead to more relevant inquiries and better communication with potential international customers.

Your Next Beauty Collection Begins Here

Creating a successful beauty brand requires countless decisions.

Your packaging shouldn’t have to begin with uncertainty.

Whether you’re searching for an elegant glass serum bottle, a minimalist airless container, a refillable packaging concept, or a complete skincare collection, PKGROOM can help you explore the possibilities.

Discover packaging designs, organize your ideas, and take the next step toward working with Korean manufacturers.

Your brand has a story. Let the packaging tell it.
